Vintage Collectible Copper-Color Bel t Buckle - UK Half Crown 1948 Coin Insert The front of the buckle is engraved with scroll-like design with theUK Half Crown 1948 Coin located in the center. The coin features the words "Fid Def Ind Imp" which is anabbreviation of the Latin phrase Fidei Defensor, which means 'Defender of the Faith', a title originally given to Henry VIII by the Pope for defending the Roman Catholic religion. When he created the Church of England he kept the title, referring to the new religion. The phrase appears on most British coins. I believe King George VI was the king of the United Kingdom in 1948.
